We are looking for a PHP Developer with experience using Laravel and Vue who would like to work on a modern codebase, growing a rewarding platform that aims to improve Surgical and patient outcomes through data.

SurgicalPerformance originated as a client of Niche Studio and has now grown to a point where it needs dedicated resources to flourish. You will be working as part of Niche’s team of producers, developers and designers, focussing on the continued development of the SurgicalPerformance system.

• Job Type – The development role is flexible from 3-5 days per week, we are happy to tailor the role to fit.
  
• Remote/Hybrid – You have a choice of working any combination of fully remote or in our office at Wynnum. Both Niche and SurgicalPerformance are located in Brisbane, so the ability to have occasional face to face catch ups is desirable.

Our mission is to empower surgeons to track their procedures and complications with a view to improving patient outcomes. SurgicalPerformance was founded in 2009 by Professor Andreas Obermair, a gynaecological oncologist in active clinical practice, who identified an unmet personal need for his practice.

SurgicalPerfomance is a startup that has bootstrapped its growth from an MVP to a proven system for Gynaecologists and Obstetricians. It is now in a phase to grow across surgical specialties and regions.

• We are a tight-knit team. You are confident that your technical solutions are sustainable and can be supported by the team.
• Experience working in an agency or freelancing is beneficial. Managing time among tasks is very important.
• The SurgicalPerformance application is built using Laravel and Vue, along with a little Angular 2 and JSON Schema for forms. It encompasses data collection and analysis with reporting dashboards and external integrations with systems like Twilio and Stripe. PHP development is at SP’s core. You can wield PHP’s strengths — and navigate its weaknesses — to create great online experiences.
• Experience with Laravel is crucial. You understand how this structured approach to development helps produce clean and maintainable code.
• We will look at experience with a modern front-end JavaScript framework (Vue, React, Svelte) very favourably. We aren’t looking for someone who evangelises one framework. We are looking for someone who knows the fundamentals and is ready to use the right tool for the right job (even if it is sometimes jQuery!).
• We use Ansible to provide managed hosting for sites we build. You are confident hacking away at a Linux shell to keep the lights on.
